AIDA *** Freediver

AIDA *** Freediver

This qualification is simply a more detailed version of the AIDA ** Freediver course, and allows the diver to progress into performance oriented freediving if they so wish. An additional responsibility to this qualification is that divers attaining this level are expected to be able to supervise less experienced divers as well as practice performance freediving with similarly qualified training partners.

Open Water sessions focus on Constant Weight dive technique and rescue protocol.

Constant Weight technique training looks at each element of the dive including preparation, duck dive, equalisation, turning, finning style, surfacing and recovery.

Rescue training includes both self rescue and rescue of an unconscious buddy. Each student diver will perform a rescue on a buddy simulating unconsciousness from a depth of 15m

Freediving is a potentially dangerous activity. This website exists only to provide general information about freediving and does not constitute any form of instruction. Individuals interested in freediving are strongly encouraged to undertake a course with a qualified instructor and to never freedive alone. The BFA accepts no liability for injury or death resulting from the use of information on this website.
